Commonly known as temple plant, starhorn or giant hygro. Native to South East Asia. The plant naturally grows as an emergent, but it can survive long periods of fully submerged. Fast-growing plant. Prefers much light. Develops attractive leaves which often turn its colour to red and brown. The plant is useful in absorbing harmful ammonium and nitrates from the aquarium and helps fighting algae growth.
